Getting Creative with Quatrefoil

Damask Love may soon be called Quatrefoil Love...

I was seriously obsessed with quatrefoil long before the PTI die came out...but I'm gonna be honest...I had no clue it was called "Quatrefoil!"

Now that I've got my hands on the PTI die, I can't stop using it!

Yesterday, I tinkered around with this die and came up with a fun way of creating a border on a pretty awesome set of thank you cards - and I am totally loving the outcome! You've already seen a peek at the finished project, so here's the "how-to"

Turns out that the Papertrey Ink Rectangular Labels Collection Die B is the perfect fit for creating a centered window on the quatrefoil background...

Here's what I mean:

First I die cut the quatrefoil background

...then I used Die B of the Rectangular Labels Collection to remove the center of the background. Next, I die cut another rectangle from the same colored cardstock and trimmed the edges to 1/4" to make a frame. By creating a frame in the center, I was able to replicate the solid border around the edge of the quatrefoil die, making the finished project look very cohesive.

With everything cut out, it's all assembly.

Adhere the frame to the quatrefoil background, then adhere the background to the cardfront. In this case, I used Soft Stone cardstock...I love the look of bold jewel tones against the pale grey neutral!

And of course it's not a card set with out some sassy & simple packaging. I just used a strip of Smokey Shadow card stock and a coordinating satin bow to finish it off!

I waffled about posting this project since it's really nothing earth shattering, but if you're anything like me - you love stationery and you love a simple, striking set of thank you cards! What 's better - these are totally DIY!

Hope this adds a little quatrefoil love to your day!

  7. Pretty! Do you have any tips for sticking down the Quatrefoil to the paper? How do you get all those tiny things not to keep bending up or popping loose?
