Inspired and thankful. That's how I felt when I saw this week's Papertrey Ink Make It Monday video about how to make my own washi tape.
Inspired because the possibilities are endless and I can be as creative as I want to be with the designs on my DIY washi tape.
Thankful because, no kidding, I was JUST about to purchase a buttload of washi tape patterns and this video came along and saved me about $40!
To execute this week's MIM challenge, I had to get a little creative though...and in the words of Tim Gunn, I had to "make it work."
See, I don't own any Scor-Tape, but I would not let that stop me! Instead I stamped the strip of tissue first, then ran it through my Xyron! Voila! Washi Tape!
For my design I used the strip of patterned washi as an anchor for my sentiment, then stamped the edges with a variety of colorful flowers and leaves. Take a look:
The process was simple...
I ran the tissue through my Xyron - pictured here.
I trimmed it down and adhered the patterned tissue paper to my card front.
Next, I stamped the floral images from PTI's Botanical Silhouettes...
With this being such a quick and simple design, I created a set and had a great time playing with color combinations and sentiment fonts!
I'm officially obsessed with washi!!!
Thanks for stopping by for some Damask Love!
Supplies:
Stamps: PTI (Background Basics: Gingham, Turning a New Leaf, Botanical Silhouettes, Inside and Out: Thank You)
Ink: Assorted inks by Impress
Paper: PTI (Rustic Cream)

I love that Make it Mondays saved you money. And see, now you did too! I saw the video yesterday, and thought "wohoo! I can make my own washi tape! Now all I need to do is buy some scor tape!" I was going to buy the tape today, but now that I saw your post, I'll just use my trusty ol' xyron! THANKS! :)
