September Style Watch #1 - Preppy Flair

Previously on my blog, I’ve admitted my love for monogrammed stationery…and the only other thing better than purchasing monogrammed stationery is being able to create it myself. The font featured in this month’s set, Alpha Varsity is different from anything I’ve seen in the stamp world and it offers such fun options for customizing monogrammed stationery….
At first glance, the varsity font immediately made me think “masculine” & “sports” – but then, I realized how the font has a good dose of collegiate, preppy flair. Now, we’ve all made our fair share of monogrammed cards, so why not take a different approach to the layout of traditional monogrammed stationery.
For today’s Style Watch project, I got crafty with my die cutting machine and designed a fun set of preppy, monogrammed note cards. Hop on over to Damask Love to take a look at the projects that any college bound student is sure to love and for more details on how to create these fun notecards…
Until later, Loverlies,
Amber D

Heres' the "How To" for these little note cards!

Step 1: Trim a piece of white cardstock to 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 and score at 3 1/2.

Step 2: Fold in half and draw a faint pencil line at the edge of the shorter end.

Step 3: Place the card on your die cutting machine and  place a circle die in the middle of the pencil line that you've drawn.

Step 4: Place a few sheets of scrap paper underneath HALF of the die cut circle then run through the machine as you typically would.

Step 5: This is the result. The scrap paper will keep the die from cutting all the way through the paper. you will end up cutting a semi-circle!

Step 6: Finally,  you will stamp the card as shown and add a monogrammed circle! As you can see, the die cut semi circle provides the perfect slit to tuck in and close the note card!

Directions:
Cut A Blanc Check cardstock to 8 1/2 x 4 7/8 and score at 3.5
Die cut half circle notch
Stamp plaid background on top of card and bottom, back of card
Die cut one colored circle and mount with smaller circle that is stamped with monogram letter
Adhere die cut monogram circle on top of note card
