CAS-ual Fridays #62: Back in Black

I've got a card today that is unlike anything I've ever made. Lord knows I love me a clean and simple white card base...so when Casual Friday threw down their black card base challenge, I thought I'd join in.

I have owned the same package of Papertrey Ink True Black cardstock since 2010 - that's how often I use black cardstock...pretty much never.

With today's project, though, I made up for all my neglect of black cardstock and tried out something new.

I used black embossing powder to add texture to this card and I'm loving the way it turned out.

When I showed this card to Andrew, he told me that it looked like a thank you card that you send someone after they've invited you to the Grammy's...I really don't know where he comes up with this stuff.

Gotta tell you though - I agree that this would be a great Grammy thank you card...anyone want to invite me to the Grammy's? I'll give you this card if you do!

This is one card I'd better keep in my stash - you never know when I'm gonna get that invitation!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Fiskars (Henna Petals), Papertrey Ink (Inside & Out Thank You)
Ink: Ranger Embossing Ink
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (True Black)
Other: Stampendous Black Embossing Powder

  2. Amber, this is such an elegant card. Not only did you create a beautifully textured, and pretty, card, but you also managed to photograph it (black is tricky!). Fantastic! Good luck with that invitation. ;-)
