Style Watch: Trendy Tribal Triangles

Well hello there, everyone! It's been a while since we got a chance to hang out! I'm so happy to be back after a whirlwind wedding month and a fabulous honeymoon!

So, howsabout we get this Style Watch party started?!?

Fashion trends seem to have taken a turn toward all things geometric! Triangles are definitely hot right now, so it makes complete sense that the most recent Clear and Simple Stamps release included plenty of this trendy shape.

With two stamp sets as well as triangle dies, you'll have tons of options for getting creative with triangles.

For today's Style Watch, I experimented with a product that is totally new to me and created a pretty darned fabulous gift set that really stretches the utility of your dies.

With a package of Shrinky Dinks and my triangle dies, I was able to assemble a really fashion-forward, tribal-inspired necklace....yep...you heard me! A necklace! To coordinate with the necklace, I used my triangle dies to create a card using bold colors and a tribal patterns.

This is one stylish project that you do not want to miss! Keep scrolling to see step-by-step photos along with a tip on keeping your triangle dies organized!

Until later loverlies,
AmberKG

It's always fun to stretch the use of your dies and that is precisely what I did for today's project!

Remember these?

Well, Shrinky Dinks aren't for kids anymore! I purchased a package of Shrinky Dink sheets, then used my newly released Clear and Simple Stamps Shapes: Triangles to create totally on trend statement necklace! It's super simple to do...

First, I die cut the triangle shape from the Shrinky Dink paper (you'll need 18 triangles in total for this design)

Then, I used a permanent black marker to color in the textured side of the die cut shapes.

NOT PICTURED: The next step was to use a 1/4" hole punch to create holes in the corners of each triangle. For this particular design, 17 of the triangles will have holes in all three corners. 1 of the triangles has holes in only two.

And now for the final product!

I used jewelry findings (i.e. gold jump rings and gold chain) to assemble the Shrinky Dink triangles into a necklace.

And of course there must be a  coordinating card, right?!

Here, I used the Shapes: Triangles dies to create a bold, tribal pattern. I LOVE IT! By flanking the triangle bottoms to each other, they became diamonds which I assembled into a fun pattern.

Before I go, I thought I'd share a quick & simple tip for keeping your triangle dies organized! I came up with this solution while creating the tribal card. See - I kept having a hard time finding the right die to create the gradient sizing for the card. Here's what I did...

With a sharpie, I numbered each die and also included the total number of dies in the set. This way, I'll know if one is missing and I'll also know which trio of dies to grab for if I want to create a similar look to the tribal card.

Well, that's all for today! Thanks for stopping by for a little Style Watch inspiration!
