Paper Crafts Magazine Card Creations 10 Blog Hop

Hey there!

Long time to see, right? After many weeks of wedding planning and preparation, our Big Day has come and gone -- and it was FABULOUS!!!! I'll be sharing photos and projects from the wedding in a few weeks, but in the meantime, I am back to blogging with a super fun post!

Today, along with 9 other designers, I'm celebrating the 10th issue of Paper Crafts Magazine's Card Creations issue. I just got my copy in the mail and IT. IS. AWESOMESAUCE.

If you don't have a copy yet, today's blog hop will be the perfect opportunity to jump start your mojo! We're all creating projects around the theme of "10" to commemorate this special milestone issue.

Before I share my cards for this blog hop, I first have to share one of my cards that is published in Card Creations 10.  It is my favorite of all the ones I have in the issue!!

It took me a while to create this one, but I had so much fun combining the jar stamps with elements from other sets (like PTI's Background Basics: Gingham for the jar lid) to create a pretty darn cute PB & J pairing!

Now for my "10" themed cards for our little blog hop!

I created these simple baby cards using a really fun technique that is a total throwback to my childhood! Instead of using stamps to create the little footprints and those ten little toesies  - I actually inked up my HAND and "stamped" them onto the card!

To keep the "10" theme going, I printed out a cute poem that I found on the internet - how perfect!!

Here's a photo of how the hand-inking worked. By inking the outside of my fist, I was able to simulate the look of a footprint! Then - with my pinky finger, I "stamped" 10 little toes! I remember doing this as a kid and it was just as fun to do it now!

*Tip*: Pigment inks work best for this - I use Impress Fresh Inks. I tried with dye inks and the impression was a bit blotchy.

Now before you head off for more ten-spiration (haha - get it?!) - be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win a copy of Card Creations 10! You have until Sunday at Midnight (EST) to leave your comments and I'll announce a winner on Monday!

5/11/12 at 1:50pm EST UPDATE  - You have until Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 5pm MDT (that's 8pm EST) to leave your comments! Then I'll announce the winner!

Off you go to see what the rest of these fabulous ladies have in store for you!
