Another quick case: Damask & Florals

Hey there!!!! I'm back - can you believe I've actually been able to post each day this week!?

Today's card is another CASE that I made this past weekend. I've had this inspiration photo saved on my computer for a really long time and I finally got around to recreating it. The fact that I "saved" it on my computer should let you know how old it is - I didn't even have Pinterest at the time!

I was initially drawn to the combination of pale blue damask with bold florals. I also really love how the red flowers have a dark, almost black center - it's so lush.

For my stamped version of this project, I pulled out Papertrey Ink's Rosie Posie set (if you don't own this set - you may need to go ahead and place your order - it's one of my absolute favorites!)

Just like the original, I combined a pale blue background with florals, and used colored pencils to create dark shading at the base of each bloom.

I opted for no bow on this card because it was just too much for me.

I love the result - although I definitely can't take credit for it!

Thanks for stopping by!

  5. This card is beautiful. I love what you have created (on many different occasions)with the Rosie Posie set. I actually think yours is better than the one you took your inspiration from. I believe you definitely deserve credit for taking a picture and really bringing it to life. I wish I had even a 10th of your ability to color and bring such dimension to your projects. Your are so darn talented!!

  6. What a beautiful card! Love the coloring and yes, a bow would be too much.
I really love to have this stamp set, but it is out of stock right now. So, have to wait! Thanks for the inspiration!
