Landscape Inspirational Desk Calendar

I hope you're not totally over my whole "calendar" thing...because I certainly am not!

I've been having a blast creating all sorts of custom stamped calendars and each time I give one away, it puts big smile on the recipient's face! It's such a great feeling to give away something handmade!

Today's calendar is one that I created after finding a wonderful website that sells clear cases for holding handmade calendars.

We've all seen the calendars that fit inside a standard size CD case. I thought it might be cool to create a similar calendar, but with different dimensions. This began my search for clear calendar cases in different sizes...I figured they had to exist somewhere!!

Well - turns out they do exist in different sizes! TONS of different sizes. Take a trip over to Calendar-Case.com. If you haven't already heard of this site - prepare to fall in love. Or maybe it's just me...I'm a sucker for packaging!

I ordered their smallest Sampler Pack, which gave me one of each size for only 8 bucks - shipped!

For today's calendar, I used the Landscape Calendar Case which measures approximately 4x7".

Now - for the design of this calendar, I came up with a really simple and fun idea....

See - my crafting style is typically clean, simple & graphic. I usually choose sentiments that are similarly clean, simple & graphic. I prefer short, sweet sentiments like "Thanks," "Hello," "Thinking of You." This means that many of my "wordy" sentiments don't get much use. Most of them were completely uninked ....until today's project!

I searched my Papertrey Ink stamps for the "wordy" sentiments and quotes that are often included in their sets.  Then, I stamped one of these on each page of my calendar and stamped images around the sentiment.

I love to stamp, so this project was tons of fun! Each page features a simple stamped design along with the sentiment.

Ok- now I'm done rambling...here's the finished product...

I'll start out with the packaging for this calendar. On the flat side of the case , I stamped simple floral images from Papertrey Ink's Daydreamer set. Then I used Fresh Alphabet and Simple Alphabet for the Calendar title. I thought that "inspirational" really did sum up the theme of this calendar since the sentiments on each page are so uplifting.

Peace Be Still with sentiment from Boards and Beams

Rosie Posie with sentiment from Happy Trails

Up, Up & Away with sentiment from Life

Harvest Berries with sentiment from Half and Half
Versafine Ink in Hababero; Impress Fresh Ink in Chocolate

Impress Fresh Ink in Chamomile, Fig, Ginger and Honey; Versafine Ink in Habanero

Impress Fresh Ink in Mojito and Red Currant

With all the stamping done, I added some twine and a tag to finish it off!

All in all, the project took me about 45 minutes to complete. The stamping wasn't too fussy and I really enjoyed playing with all my stamp sets to create the pages.

I'll be sharing the template for this calendar for those who are interested...I just need some time to merge the PDF's into one document.  I'm hoping to have that all done in a couple of days! In the meantime, you should go ahead and order some calendar cases (and in case you're wondering, I'm totally not in cahoots with Calendar Case.com to advertise their product. I just get really excited when I find a product that I love...and I really do love these cases!)

Thanks for stopping by! See you tomorrow for the Clear and Simple Stamps Style Watch project!
